Earthquake Finder 1.6

This application provides a comprehensive overview of recent seismic activity, visualized on both a 3D globe and a 2D map that can be zoomed in for more detailed analysis. Users can customize their experience by selecting a specific time range and minimum magnitude through an intuitive data controls pop-up interface.

Upon selecting an earthquake on the map, users are presented with a detailed list of all seismic events at that location, organized chronologically. Each entry in this list includes important information such as the date, time, latitude, longitude, magnitude, and depth of the earthquake.

The data controls also allow users to refine their search parameters further by specifying date ranges (up to one week prior), as well as adjusting the displayed range of magnitudes and depths. Furthermore, users can access recent volcanic activity data or explore significant historical earthquake locations.

In addition to data controls, the application features pop-up map controls that enable users to select the types of tectonic plate boundaries illustrated. Additionally, various map options highlighting physiographic features, continents, or countries can be selected. This functionality facilitates an in-depth study of the interrelationships between earthquakes, volcanoes, and tectonic plate boundaries.

Data is sourced from a reliable USGS feed and is refreshed every five minutes, ensuring users have access to the most current information (an internet connection is required).
